About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders of NY has been requested to stand in honor of Keith L. Fahs, Sr. of Niagara Falls, NY, who passed away on 1 July 2022.

Mr. Fahs, Sr. served our nation for a total of over 6 years in the US Navy during the period 1963-1971, including over 5 years of active duty. The majority of his first enlistment from 1963-1966 was served aboard the supercarrier USS Forrestal (CVA-59), and he received an honorable discharge on 3 August 1966 as an Airman Apprentice (AN) (E-3.)

During the period May 1969-February 1971, Mr. Fahs, Sr. served as a US Navy Seabee Equipment Operator (EO), assigned to Mobile Construction Battalion-71 (USNMCB-71) in Davisville, RI, and Naval Magazine (NAVMAG), Guam. He had a total of 18 months of foreign service, including in Vietnam.

Mr. Fahs, Sr. was honorably discharged from active duty on 31 August 1971 with the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4) and he earned the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will standby with a respectful flag line for arrival of the funeral director.  KSU at 12:35 for the escort to WNY National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, NY 14036 for the 1:00 PM interment with Military Honors.  Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Navy flag, dress for the weather and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
