About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in Honor of the life and service of WW-II Veteran Clair E. Roesch of Akron, who passed away on 13 November 2020 at the age of 102.

Mr. Roesch served 3 years, 3 months on active duty in the Army Air Force from 1942-1946, including 5 months in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations. His MOS was 686-Airplane Instrument Mechanic, and he was attached to the 2113th Army Air Force Base Unit. Mr. Roesch was Honorably Discharged on 8 February 1946 with the rank of Sergeant (E-5), and he earned the following awards: Army Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW-II Victory Medal, AAF Technician Badge, and Pistol Marksman Badge.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.

Flag Line for arrival of family and friends.
Visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Funeral Service at 12:00 PM.
Followed by dignified transfer and escort to Pioneer Cemetery, 11130 Hunts Corners Road, Akron for Burial with Military Honors.
