About the Mission: The Wyoming County Veteran Services Director has requested PGR participation in a dedication event for the naming of a recently-completed new wooden covered bridge on Schoellkopf Road over Cayuga Creek in Cowlesville, Wyoming County, NY.

The unique new bridge will be named in honor of US Army Staff Sergeant Charles Cannon, a 1941 graduate of Attica High School. He was a Combat Engineer serving in Europe during WWII and while crossing the Rhine on a small boat, they were spotted by the Germans; 10 of 11 on board were killed, including Charlie. He was listed as MIA until his status was changed to KIA decades later. His remains have yet to be located.

The Attica American Legion Honor Guard will participate, along with State, County and Town officials. A PGR flag line will greatly enhance this event.
