About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to make a special visit to Korean War Veteran Robert S. Martinec. Mr. Martinec is currently in hospice and declining, and has no family in the area. This is an opportunity to thank and honor him for his service to our Nation while he is still with us.

Mr. Martinec served 3 years active duty in the US Marine Corps from 1951-1954, including 16 months in Korea as a weapons expert with the 5th Marine Infantry Regiment, 1st Marine Division. He was honorably discharged on 16 April 1954 with the rank of Sergeant (E-5), and he earned the following awards: Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Combat Action Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars, and United Nations Service Medal – Korea.

Special Information: Gather together in preparation for a 2:00 PM visitation with Mr. Martinec in the common area.  We will thank him for his service to our Nation, and present a PGR Plaque to him.  The Comfort Home will have some light refreshments.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or USMC flag.
This is a relatively short but very meaningful mission. Please consider devoting a little time in support of Mr. Martinec.
