William "Bill" C. Lucas, Veteran

USA - Vietnam

We have been requested to stand in Honor of another Vietnam War Hero. William "Bill" Lucas passed away on April 16th. Mr. Lucas served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969, including 18 months (3 tours) in Vietnam with Company B, 159th Brigade, 92nd Engineering Battalion providing construction services - including airstrips - in Long Bhen, Saigon, Pleiku and Phu Bai. Immediately following Basic Training, Bill served at West Point Military Academy with the 20th Engineers before going to Vietnam. Mr. Lucas was Honorably Discharged on 8 October 1969 with the rank of Specialist Fifth Class (E-5). For his courageous Service to our Nation, SP5 Lucas was awarded: Army Commendation Medal; Army Meritorious Unit Commendation; Army Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars; Vietnam Campaign Medal; 3 Overseas Bars; M-14 Sharpshooter Badge. Bill Lucas was a proud member of Hogs & Heroes Foundation of NY, Vietnam Veterans of America, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Interment with Military Honors.
PGR will cooperate with Hogs & Heroes Foundation NY in honoring the Army Vietnam Service of Bill Lucas.
Please arrive on time with a clean 3x5 American Flag or US Army flag, and dress for the weather.
If you choose to ride, please ensure your large bike flags are properly placed and securely attached.
SPECIAL NOTE: Saturday May 6th is a very busy day in Region-1, with 3 Funeral Missions and BN Honor Flight.
Please make an effort to provide support as much as possible.
