|About the Mission:||The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the extraordinary life and service of William A. "Bill" Kilmer of Lewiston, who passed away on Veteran's Day, 11 November 2020.
A portion of the Hardison Funeral Home obituary says it best:
"Bill served in the United States Army from 1969-1972 as a dog handler in the K-9 unit in Tan Son Nhut Airbase, Vietnam. He also was stationed in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam from 1970-1971 in which he was responsible for securing ammo dumps and heli-pads at the hospital.
Bill returned to General Motors where he was previously employed before deployment and remained there for the next 38 years. He was active with the Lewiston #1 Fire Department for 25 years. During his course of duty, he served as Chief for 3 years and President for 7. Bill served as a police officer with the Lewiston Police force between 1973 and 1979. Bill was a pillar to his community, always giving back. He was also a member of the Wheatfield Legion Riders with the Wheatfield American Legion Post 1451, as well as a member of the Patriot Guard Riders up until his illness.
