About the Mission:

The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in Honor of the life and service of Roger J. Grazioplene of Batavia, who passed away on 6 November 2020.

Mr. Grazioplene served our Nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army Infantry from 1968-1970, including 12 months in Vietnam. His MOS was 11B40-Light Weapons Infantry, and he was attached to Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, 196th Infantry Brigade. Mr. Grazioplene was injured under enemy fire, and he was Honorably Discharged on 3 April 1970 with the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6). SSG Grazoplene earned the following awards: Purple Heart Medal; Bronze Star Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; and M-14 Rifle Expert Qualification Badge. Mr. Grazioplene was a member of the VFW Vaness-Strolo Post 1602, the Glenn S. Loomis American Legion Post 332, and the Disabled Veterans of America.

Special Information: Flag Line for arrival of family and friends.
Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM.
Followed by dignified transfer and escort to St. Joseph's Mausoleum for entombment with Military Honors.
Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather.
