About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in Honor of the life and service of Rocco Edward Sapienza of West Seneca, who passed away suddenly on 1 October 2020.

Mr. Sapienza served almost 3 years on active duty in the US Marine Corps from 1957-1959. His MOS was 2511-Wireman, and he was attached to H&S Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force, Camp Lejeune, NC. Mr. Sapienza was Honorably Discharged on 10 December 1959 with the rank of Lance Corporal (E-3), and he earned the USMC Good Conduct Medal.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: Flag Line for arrival of family and friends. (Family expected to arrive at 10:00 AM.)
Celebration of Life and Military Honors at 11:00 AM.
There is no cemetery or escort involved in this Mission.
Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or USMC flag, and dress for the weather.
