ABOUT THE MISSION:
We have been requested to stand in Honor of the U.S. Army Korean War Service of Robert W. Shreder of Attica, NY, who passed away on June 21st. Mr. Shredder served from 1951-1953, including 13-1/2 months in Korea as an Artillery Gunner with Battery B, 9th Field Artillery Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division. The "Mighty Ninth" was awarded two Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citations and the Bravery Gold Medal of Greece for its Korean War Service.
Mr. Shreder was Honorably Discharged on 5 August 1953 with the rank of Corporal. For his Service to our Nation, Cpl. Shreder was awarded:
National Defense Service Medal; Korean Service Medal w/2 Campaign Stars; United Nations Service Medal-Korea.
