About the Mission:

The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in Honor of the life and service of WW-II Veteran Robert M. Armbruster Sr. of Cowelsville, NY who passed away on 19 January 2020.

Mr. Armbruster served 2 years, 3 months on active duty in the US Navy from 1944-1946. His rating was Aviation Machinist's Mate, and he served stateside at Naval Air Station, Almeda, CA. Mr. Armbruster was Honorably Discharged on 24 May 1946 with the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4), and earned the American Campaign Medal and WW-II Victory Medal.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information:

 A flag line for the arrival of family and friends.
The funeral service is at 10:00 AM followed by a dignified transfer and escort to Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 800 Pine Ridge Heritage Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14215 for Interment with Military Honors.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Navy flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your vehicle flags are securely attached.
Please Note: The escort distance is approx. 30 miles.
If you aren't able to make the funeral service in Bennington Center, please consider staging directly at the cemetery at 10:45 AM for arrival of the funeral procession.
