About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in Honor of the life and service of Robert G. Beyer of Brockport, who passed away on 6 February 2020.

Mr. Beyer served our Nation for a total of 9-1/2 years active duty in the U.S. Army from 1944 - 1953 and was both a WW-II and Korean War Veteran. During WW-II, his MOS was 677-Military Policeman, and he served 24 months with the U.S. Army Infantry in the European Theater of Operations. He was involved in three European Campaigns: Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. During the Korean War, Mr. Beyer served 10 months of foreign duty in Korea. His final Honorable Discharge was on 3 November 1953 with the rank of Master Sergeant, and he earned the following awards: Combat Infantryman's Badge, Army Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal w/3 Bronze Campaign Stars, Army Occupation Medal, WW-II Victory Medal, M-1 Rifle Marksman Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal-Korea.
