About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Robert F. Burns, who passed away on 2 April 2020. Due to Covid-19, the family was unable to properly honor their Hero.

Mr. Burns served over 25 years of combined active and reserve duty with the US Army , including deployment in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
His MOS was 91N30-Cardiac Specialist and he was attached to the 365th Evac Medical Hospital Unit, 77th US Army Reserve Command, Niagara Falls. Pending additional information, Mr. Burns retired from the US Army with the rank of at least Staff Sergeant (E-6).

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: Stage in preparation to process to the family home nearby.
KSU at 3:45 PM.
Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM.
While not part of the official Mission, Mrs. Burns requests that PGR members stay to share dinner with the family.
Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather.
Please be prepared to comply with all local and PGRNY requirements for social distancing and face covering.
