About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of US Navy Veteran Richard Steven Kowalski, Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY who passed away on 27 December 2020.

Mr. Kowalski served 4 years on active duty from 1967-1971, with a rating of CCT (Cryptologic Technician-Technical). He served 2 years, 10 months of foreign service attached to the US Naval Security Group in Bremerhaven, Germany. Mr. Kowalski was Honorably Discharged from active duty on 1 November 1971 with the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4), and he received the National Defense Service Medal.

IMPORTANT

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: PGR will provide a flag line for arrival of family and friends.  Funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
Service will be followed by dignified transfer and escort to St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery (approx. 1 mile away) for interment with military honors.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Navy flag, and dress for the weather.
