About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in Honor of the life and service of Richard E. Thurber of Conesus, who passed away on 8 March 2020 at the age of 96.

Mr. Thurber served 3 years active duty in the US Army Air Corps/Air Forces from 1943-1946. His MOS was Clerk-Typist, and he was attached to the 2109th Army Air Forces Base Unit in Georgia. Mr. Thurber attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6), and was Honorably Discharged on 11 February 1946. He earned the Army Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, and WW-II Victory Medal. Mr. Thurber was a Life Member of the Kern-Robinson Post 905 Springwater American Legion.

The Ovid, NY VFW/American Legion will participate in Military Honors.
Please arrive on time with a clean 3x5 American, US Army or US Air Force flag, and dress for the weather.
This is a relatively short but important Mission.
