ABOUT THE MISSION:

On 13 May 2017 in Salamanca the PGR stood in Honor of the exemplary Military Career of Joseph J. Nary, who passed away on May 4th. We will now complete the Mission by providing a Dignified Escort of Mr. Nary and his family to his final resting place at Bath National Cemetery.
As a reminder of Mr. Nary's Service to our Nation:
Mr. Nary first served in the U.S. Army Artillery from 1949-1952, including Service in Korea in 1950-1951. He was attached to Company F, 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. Mr. Nary was injured on 23 August 1950 and again on 15 February 1951. He was Honorably Discharged on 25 June 1952 with the rank of PFC. For his Service in Korea, PFC Nary's awards included: Purple Heart Medals (2); Combat Infantry Badge; National Defense Service Medal; Korean Service Medal w/3 Campaign Stars; United Nations Service Medal (Korea.)
Mr. Nary then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and served 17-1/2 years of Active Duty...for a total of 22 years of Military Service. Mr. Nary served heroically in Vietnam as a Munitions Load Chief with the 405th Munitions Maintenance Squadron. He Retired Honorably on 1 November 1970 with the rank of TSgt. (E-6), and earned the following: Airman Medals; Purple Hearts (3); Air Force Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal w/Bronze Service Star; Air Force Good Conduct Medal w/Oak Leaf Cluster; Air Force Longevity Service Award w/4 Oak Leaf Clusters; Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Campaign Stars; Vietnam Campaign Medal.
SPECIAL NOTE: The Narys are a very proud Military family. Mr. Nary's daughter is a 6-year Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and served as a secretary to the Secretary of the Navy at the Pentagon. One of Mr. Nary's sons retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after a 30-year career.

1st part of the escort will be proudly led by a PGR Member, RC Walter Nary, nephew of Popa Joe Nary.
IMPORTANT: Total Escort distance is approx. 95 miles, please ensure you are fully fueled.
KSU at 10:15 A.M.
1st part of Escort is to I-86 Friendship Rest Area, a distance of approx. 45 miles.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American Flag, US Army flag or US Air Force flag, and dress for the weather.
Please ensure your large bike flags are properly placed and VERY securely attached for the long highway-speed trip.
For those members unable to travel all the way to Bath, you may terminate your participation at the Rest Area.

KSU at 11:30 A.M. to proceed to Bath National Cemetery, a distance of approx. 52 miles.
Interment Ceremony at BNC is scheduled for 1:00 P.M.

Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American Flag, US Army or US Air Force flag, and dress for the weather.
