About the Mission: | The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of James H. Wright, Jr. of Darien Center, NY, who passed away on 27 May 2022. Mr. Wright served our nation for almost 4 years on active duty in the US Navy from 1958-1962, with a Naval Rating of Damage Controlman (DC.) Almost his entire length of service was sea duty aboard the USS Newman K. Perry (DDR-883), a Gearing-class radar picket destroyer. Mr. Wright was honorably discharged from active duty on 18 May 1962 with the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4), and he earned the Navy Good Conduct Medal. Updated 8 March 2022Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters. |
Special Information: | PGR will standby with a respectful flag line for arrival of the family, expected at approx. 10:15 AM. KSU at 10:35 AM for the escort to the WNY National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, NY 14036 for the 11:00 AM Interment with Military Honors. Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Navy flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached. Thank you for taking time to help honor the US Naval service of James H. Wright, Jr., and to support his loving family. |
