|About the Mission:||The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to participate in Honoring American Hero Gary Clark of Elba and Batavia, who passed away on 12 June 2020.
The following excerpt is from the Gilmartin Funeral Home obituary:
"Gary served as Director of Probation for over 30 years until his retirement in 2006. While serving in Vietnam as a Helicopter Pilot with D Troop 3/5 Air Cavalry from 1968 to 1972, Chief Warrant Officer Clark earned the Distinguished Flying Cross Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star, Soldiers Medal for Heroism, Air Medal V Device and Air Medal 39 Award, for Heroic and Meritorious Achievement in aerial flight. CW4 Clark joined the New York State National Guard after returning home from Vietnam until his retirement in 1998 where he was awarded his Master Aviator Wings.
While a member of the community, Gary also served as Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Batavia, Iroquois Trail Council of Boy Scouts of America and Council of Probation Administrators for Western New York. Gary was a lifetime member of the Stafford Fire Department."
