About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the exemplary life and service of Eugene Robert Donohue, Sr. of Hamburg, NY who passed away on 27 April 2021.

Mr. Donohue served a total of 7 years, 8 months of U.S. Army active duty during the periods 1957-1960 and 1962-1965. His service included 2 years, 4 months of foreign duty in Giessen, Germany with the Quarter Master Supply Center as a Security Guard (MP), and 13 months with the Eighth U.S. Army in Korea. Mr. Donohue went on to serve 3 years (1975-1978) in the Army National Guard in Niagara Falls, NY with the 42nd Aviation Battalion as a UH-1 Crew Chief. Then he served for 1 year (1978-1979) with the Air National Guard in Niagara Falls, assigned to the 107th Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance (CAM) Squadron. For his U.S. Army/ARNG service, Mr. Donohue attained the rank of Sergeant (E-5), and for his ANG service, he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5). Mr. Donohue, Sr. served honorably for 23 years as a law enforcement officer with the Town of Hamburg Police Department.

  • ** ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade face-mask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information:

The PGR will provide a flag line for the arrival of family and friends during calling hours from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
The funeral service at the funeral home is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
Following the service and dignified transfer, the PGR will provide an escort to Hillcrest Cemetery, 5223 Abbott Road, Hamburg, NY for interment with Military Honors.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American, U.S. Army, or U.S. Air Force flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
