About the Mission:

The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the U.S. Army service of Edward J.P. Drabczyk of Amherst, who passed away on 4 March 2019.

Mr. Drabczyk proudly served 2-1/2 years active duty from 1969-1971. His MOS was 93D20-Flight Simulator Specialist, and his assignments included 10 months with Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 18th Aviation Battalion, Hanau Army Airfield, Germany. Mr. Drabczyk was honorably discharged on 31 December 1971 with the rank of Specialist-4 (E-4), and earned the National Defense Service Medal, and Expert Qualification Badges for the M-14 and M-16 Rifles.

He was also a member of the Citizens Police Academy and the Citizens Emergency Response Team in the Town of Tonawanda; past President of the Criminal Justice Alumni Association at Buffalo State College; board member of the American Society for Industrial Security; an active member of the St. Christopher Parish where he served as an usher, coordinated the parking for the annual Summerfest, Vice President of the Parish Council, Strategic Planning Committee and the Buildings and Grounds Committee. Edward was also a supporter of the Brighton Place Library.

SPECIAL NOTE: On 26 June 2015 the PGR stood for Mr. Drabczyk's father, highly-decorated WWII Army combat veteran Edward L. Drabczyk.
