About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested by the family to participate in Honoring the life and service of Donald E. Trzepacz, Sr. of Elma, who passed away on 2 September 2020.

Quoting from the Mission Request submitted by Donald Trzepacz, Jr:
"Spring Brook Fire District #1 announces the Line-of-Duty Death of Active Life Member Donald Trzepacz on September 2nd. Donald was a 49-year member serving as Past Commissioner, Past Chief, Past President of Spring Brook FD. He currently was serving as 1st. Vice President and Fire Police Captain. He was a current NYS Emergency Medical Technician and has numerous other County, State, and Federal Certifications. He was currently serving on the Committee to Restore Springbrook’s 1937 GMC. Donald was a past Disaster Coordinator for Erie County and the Town of Elma. He currently was serving as a County Fire Instructor, teaching NYS Fire Police class to thousands of firefighters over the years. He was a member of the following organizations: Erie County HazMat Team / Operations Technician, Erie County Volunteer Fireman’s Association which he currently was Sergeant at Arms and served as President in 1998-1999, Erie County Fire Police Association, Erie County Fire Chiefs Mutual Aid Organization, Erie County Fire District Officers Association, Western Association of Volunteer Fireman which he currently was Sergeant at Arms and is a Past President, Southwestern Association of Volunteer Fireman, Firemen’s Association State of NY, New York State Association of Fire Chiefs and New York State Fire District Officers Association. Don was also an active member of the New York State Fireman’s Judging Association, Western Division where he judged hundreds of parades. Don also served as Captain of the Erie County Sheriff’s K-9 Reserve Unit. In addition, Don served on the Town of Elma Zoning Board 1991-2020, Elma Republican Committee, Elma Conservation Life Member, Boy Scouts of America Chartered Organizational Representative and Order of the Arrow Ordeal member."

  • No handshaking, fist-bumping, hugs, cheek kissing, or any other physical contact.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: The PGR will provide a Flag Line for the arrival of family, friends, 1st Responders, and community members.
Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM.
Followed by dignified transfer and escort to Elma Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Elma, NY 14059 for burial.
This is expected to be a high-profile Mission and escort, with many 1st Responder and Law Enforcement units involved.
It is imperative that PGR members pay attention and follow the directions/instructions of the Ride Captain.
Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
Please be prepared to comply with all PGRNY and local protocols and requirements for social distancing and face covering.
