About the Mission:

We have been requested to stand in Honor of Richard "Dick" O'Connor. Dick served in the United States Army from 1962-1972 as a Army Ranger having served 2 tours in Vietnam. Dick participated in a special operations group called Guns-a-Go-Go. Dick was very proud to have served his Country. While serving overseas, Dick was awarded (amongst many other citations) a Purple Heart, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Dick worked at the Marion Central School District for over 25 years and was a life-long member of the Marion Legion, VFW and Marion Minute Men Honor Guard.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others, but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information: We are meeting family at the Marion, NY Legion at 8:00 am
KSU at 8:10 am sharp.
A little over an hour ride with no traffic.

We will escort family out to Sampson Military Cemetery in Romulus, NY.
Burial with Military Honors is at 10 am

Samson wishes family there between 9:30 am - 9:45 am.

Strict Covid-19 guidelines will be enforced by PGR and by Samson National Cemetery Officers. Masks must be worn once we enter Samson. Also please stay 6ft apart or more during the flag line.
On entering Samson, we have been asked to keep bikes as quite as we can because there will be a funeral in session as we arrive.

Any Members that are closer to Samson, you can meet us right there at the cemetery. There will be cones showing you where to park. Please don't arrive before 9:25 am so as not to interfere with funeral before Dicks.

Our ETA at Samson should be between 9:20 am- 9:25 am
