About the Mission:

The Patriot Guard Riders have been given the honor to stand for the service and life of C. Benn Forsyth who passed away 12-21- 2020 at age 94.

Mr. Forsyth served in the U.S. Navy for nearly 2 years, 9-1944 until 6-1946. He was discharged at the rank of Electronics Mate 3rd Class while also earning the awards of American Theater Medal, European Theater Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, and WWII Victory Medal.

Upon returning to Rochester, Benn started his career as an attorney. Mr. Forsyth's passion for his community led him to serve the area of Webster in numerous ways.  Benn was a Webster Town Justice, he volunteered for years at the W. Webster F.D., eventually becoming the Commissioner. His list of activities included President of the P.T.A at R.L. Thomas H.S. and Webster United Church of Christ along with many more organizations. Mr. Forsyth is the father of Bruce Forsyth, an active Patriot Guard Rider.

  • * ADDITIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Wearing a protective face covering of some kind is required...homemade facemask, bandanna, etc. (Patriotic face coverings would be particularly appropriate) This will not only provide an extra layer of protection to ourselves and others but will send the message that the PGR takes this crisis seriously and is performing this Mission responsibly.
Special Information:

We will provide a flag line at the cemetery for the arrival of family and friends. A short service with Military Honors is expected at 3:30 pm.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 Flag
The weather at this time is expected to be in the high 30's with the chance of rain or snow.

Please do what you can to honor this American hero and support his loving and grieving family.
