ABOUT THE MISSION:
We have been requested to stand in Honor of another Hero of WW-II.* John F. Ahrens of Andover passed away on April 5th. Mr. Ahrens is an Andover legend.* He served 3 years (1942-1945) in Europe as an Aircraft Mechanic with the USAAF 479th Fighter Group, keeping B-38 Bombers and P-51 Fighters in flying condition.* He survived 6 Campaigns during those 3 years, and was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.* For his Service to our Nation, SSGT Ahrens was awarded:* USAAF Good Conduct Medal;* American Campaign Medal;* European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal;* WW-II Victory Medal.

Family will arrive at the Funeral Home at 9:15. We will provide an Escort down the street to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Followed by Escort to Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Route 417, East of Andover. Burial with Military Honors. Family has requested PGR assistance as Pall Bearers. Please arrive on time with a clean x5 American Flag, US Army flag, or US Air Force Flag. Weather forecast is very favorable, please dress accordingly. If you choose to ride, please ensure your large bike flags are properly placed and securely attached. Please do whatever possible to help Honor the WW-II Service of Mr. Ahrens, and to support his loving family.
