Harold Robert Van Scooter

US Navy, US Coast Guard (Ret.) - WWII Veteran

Rochester, New York - 12-06 & 12-07-18

ABOUT THE MISSION:

Mr. Harold Robert Van Scooter’s guardian has asked the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in calling hours and a service to honor Mr. Van Scooter’s service.
Mr. Van Scooter passed on November 30th, 2018.
Mr. Van Scooter’s service began in 1943 with the US Navy. He transferred service to the US Coast Guard in 1946. Mr. Van Scooter served in the US Coast Guard until his retirement in 1964.
During this time Mr. Van Scooter served on the US CGC Maple (WAGL-234), US CGC White Lupine (WAGL-546), and finished his military career as Captain of the Port Office, Detroit, Michigan.
Mr. Van Scooter earned: World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Area Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Area Campaign Medal, Philippine’s Liberation Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal with 6 Bronze Stars and 1 Silver Star, and Coast Guard Medals.
Please come honor Mr. Van Scooter’s life of service.
