Honor Mission

James C. Smith

U.S. Navy - WWII

Multi-City, New York - 11-09-18

ABOUT THE MISSION:

The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of Mr. James C. Smith, 93, who passed on August 11th 2018.

Born in Waterford, Mississippi, Jim was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.  He served aboard the USS Willis (DE-395), an Edsall-class destroyer escort, in the North Atlantic and Pacific. He was honorably discharged at the end of the War with a rating of Machinist Mate 2nd Class (MM2).  He was later hired as an apprentice at a Sunoco station in Greenwich New York. Five years later he was a partner, and later became the sole owner. He sold that business years later and opened his own car repair shop. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

The Patriot Guard Riders will be there to render honor, dignity and respect for the life and service of Mr. James C Smith, WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and "Greatest Generation" Hero.
