ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of Herbert Flanders Gable has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Herbert, 75, passed on Monday, October 8, 2018.

Born in Pittsfield, MA, Herbert was a Pittsfield High School Graduate. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966. He was trained as an Armor Intelligence Specialist (MOS11D10), and was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge and Parachutist Badge. Herbert was honorably discharged on 5 January, 1966 at the rank of Specialist 4th Class (E-4).

Herbert was a long-time employee at General Electric, and retired from Saint-Gobain in Watervliet.

Special Instructions:

The Patriot Guard Riders will be joining with members of CVMA 19-1, who will be transporting Herbert on his final ride. There will be no flag line or service at the funeral home, only the escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment with full military honors.

If you have a large flag bike, please bring it.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.

Special Instructions:

Interment with full military honors scheduled for 10:00 a.m. For those staging directly to the cemetery, please be aware of any service already in progress. Members arriving early are asked to form a flag line at the cemetery entrance for the arrival of the escort.
