William D. Kownack

The family of William D. Kownack has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Kownack, 56, passed on Monday, September 10, 2018.

Born in Cohoes and raised in Rotterdam, Bill served proudly in the United States Army from October, 1979 until October of 1982. He was a Power Generator Equipment Engineer, and served an overseas tour of duty in Korea. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 4th Class (E-4), and received the following awards for his service; Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and the Sharpshooter Badge.

Following his military service, Bill went into the trades and became a cabinetmaker, most recently for Hutchins Woodworking.

Staging at the funeral home with flag line for the arrival of family and guests. Following the dignified transfer, PGR members will provide escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment with full military honors.

Flags will not be provided
If you have a large flag bike, please bring it.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.

Special Instructions:

Interment with military honors scheduled for 12:00 p.m. For those staging directly at the cemetery, please be aware of any services already in progress. If there is a service in progress, riders please do not pass beyond the Stratton Memorial until that service has concluded. Please do not gather at the Visitor Center.

Flags & Water:

Flags will not be provided 
Large Bike Flags will NOT be needed.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.
