Lyndon M. Leonard

USAF - Vietnam Era

Multi-City, New York - 08/21-22/18



The family of Mr. Lyndon Michael "Mike" Leonard has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his funeral services. Mr. Leonard, 70, passed on August 18, 2018.

Born in Springfield, MA, Mike was a 1966 graduate of Monadnock High School in Swanzey, NH. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on September 15, 1966, trained as an Aircraft Control & Warning Operator (AFSC 27350), and was later assigned to Detachment 4, 623rd Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Small Arms Expert Ribbon. Mike was honorably discharged on May 21, 1970 at the rank of Sergeant (E-4).

After the service, Mike went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Arts and later, a Masters Degree in education. He was employed at the Bern-Knox-Westerlo School District until his retirement in 2004.

Staging at the funeral home with flag line for the arrival of family and guests. Visitation hours are from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Flag line and rendering of honors will be a joint initiative between PGR and our brothers and sisters of the ALR Helderberg Post 977.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Staging with flag line to take place by 10:30 a.m. Following the dignified transfer, PGR and ALR members will escort to, but will not enter the cemetery. Pathways within the cemetery are not suitable for motorcycle traffic. There will be no PGR participation at the graveside interment services.
