As we are approaching the holiday season, it's an excellent time to remember our fallen and their ultimate sacrafice; another way to remember them is to sponsor a wreath.  Sponsoring a wreath through Wreaths Across America is easy.

Honor Mission

Daniel A. Swiatek, Veteran
USA - Vietnam
Hamburg, New York - 19 May 2018


The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to help Honor the U.S. Army Service of Daniel A. Swiatek of Hamburg, who passed away on December 3, 2017. Mr. Swiatek served a total of 9 years as an Army Officer, including over 6-1/2 years Active Duty from 1966-1973. He served over 4 years with US Army Europe, including duty in Vietnam. From the Lakeside Memorial FH Obituary: "Dan was proud of his service to our country as a paratrooper, officer (Army Major) and life member of the 11th Armored Cavalry's Veterans of Vietnam and Cambodia, member of the 82nd Airborne Division Blackhorse Regiment, John F. Kennedy Center for Military Service and 1st Airborne Brigade, 3rd Armored Division. He was the recipient of numerous medals and awards: Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Bronze Star for Valor, Bronze Star for Meritorious Service, Army Commendation for Military Service, New York State Conspicuous Service Cross, and the Vietnamese Combat Armor Medal. In 2003, he was awarded the New York State Conspicuous Service Star by Governor George Pataki's Executive Office for his military service with distinguished military units in Vietnam, Germany and the United States."
Mr. Swiatek was Honorably Discharged on 1 July 1973 with the rank of Major.
