Honor Mission

Walter L. Schaffer, Veteran
Rochester, New York - 21 May 2018


The family of Walter L. Schaffer has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his funeral services. Walter, 97, passed on March 19, 2018.

Born in North Cohocton, NY, Walter served in World War II in the horse cavalry and then as a tank commander. He served on the Newport News, Va. Police Department in the 1940's. He never missed a Law Day and held all police officers in the highest esteem. 
He worked for many years as a bank courier for Reliant Federal Credit Union.

Dress for the weather. Forecast is for high 65-70 w 10% chance of a shower----We will Leave Staging area @ 1030, for a leisurely ride down Route 65 to Route 15 to cemetery---approximately 1 hour 20 minute travel time.

Check Your fuel before departing. Some stretches of route are highway speeds, please ensure that flags are secured.
