Memorial Mission

The Wall That Heals Departure

MULTI-CITY, New York - 23 Feb 2018

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund is the nonprofit organization that was authorized by the U.S. Congress in 1980 to build a national memorial dedicated to all who served with the U.S. armed forces in the Vietnam War. Incorporated on April 27, 1979 by a group of veterans led by Jan C. Scruggs, the organization sought a tangible symbol of recognition from the American people for those who served in the war.

The result was the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (commonly referred to as The Wall), which has become one of the most visited memorials in Washington, D.C. with an estimated 5.6 million annual visitors.

The VVMF also supports a mobile version of The Wall called The Wall That Heals, a half-scale replica of The Wall that tours the country. The VVMF has contracted with a local company, Creatacor, located in Clifton Park, NY to build a brand new replica of The Wall, and the Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in Honor as it begins its very first tour across the country.

This is a very special honor for us to have the opportunity to pay homage to the more than 58,000 individuals who sacrificed their very lives in service to their country during the Vietnam War, and whose names are etched on the Wall That Heals. Lets be there in numbers to show our support for the mission behind this very powerful symbol and all of the lost souls that it represents.
