Honor Mission

Randall E. Hagar
US Navy, WWII Veteran and
Law Enforcement Officer

MULTI-CITY, New York - 14 Nov 2014


ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of Mr. Randall E. Hagar has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services.

Mr. Hagar, 92, of Niskayuna, passed away on Saturday November 4, 2017 at home. Born in Damarescotta Mills, Maine Randall graduated from Lincoln Academy in New Castle, ME at age 17. He joined the Maine State Guard Reserve and that same year he joined the United States Navy in Portland, ME on October 5, 1943. During his service, he was assigned to the USS Aucilla (AO-56), a Cimarron-class fleet oiler, and was involved in numerous engagements in the Pacific fleet. He earned the WW II Victory medal, American Theatre medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre medal and the Philippine Liberation Theatre medal. He was Honorably discharged as a Shipfitter 3rd Class.

After the war he served on fleet tankers for Esso and later at G.E. as steam fitter. He later entered the Schenectady Police force in 1958 as a patrolman, working his way up to a vice detective until his retirement in 1981. After his retirement, net continued to support the family business, Bell Hagar Antiques and Bell Hagar Fashions. Randall was a member of the Elk's and American Legion Post 1092.

The Patriot Guard Riders are proud to have the opportunity to stand for and render dignity, honor and respect for the life and service of Mr. Randall E. Hagar, "Greatest Generation" hero.

wHOTH Assistance Flyer

Our veterans are in need!

The Rochester Area HOTH Warehouse can always use your gently used furniture.  The ROC HOTH Warehouse will be picking up and delivering on November 18, 2017.  The second Saturday is Veterans Day and many PGRNY events are scheduled for that day.  If you have items that meet the criteria, are located in the Rochester area, and would like us to pickup those items, please go to the Donate Items section and either call us at 585-866-1747 or fill out the Furniture Donation Request Pick-up Request Form.  You are welcome to bring your donations to the ROC Warehouse by appointment only. Call to schedule your appointment for dropping off your donations today!  Your donations are GREATLY appreciated and tax deductible.
