Memorial Mission

William J. Butler
US Army, Vietnam Veteran

Jefferson, New York - 21 Oct 2017


The family of William Joseph "Red" Butler has requested Patriot Guard Rider presence for his memorial service. William, 70, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2017.

William served in the United States Army from June of 1967 to January of 1969, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. His MOS was 94B20, Cook. During his service, he attained the rank of SP4(T) (E4) and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

After his return home, William moved to South Beach, Staten Island and later settled in Stapleton. He worked at William J. Gaynor Junior High School for 36 years.
