ABOUT THE MISSION:

We have been invited to Escort and Stand in Honor of Seaman 2nd Class Robert C. Olney, USN. Robert was stationed in the Atlantic during World War II, and in the words of his widow, served on a tin can escorting ships to England from the United States. He was transferred to the Franklin Delano Roosevelt, CV-42 aircraft carrier near the end of the war. He remained with the ship following the war and met President Truman when he was escorted by the ship to Brazil to attend the inauguration of the new Brazilian president. Seaman 2nd Class Robert C. Olney passed in Florida on November 20, 2016.

One half mile West on Woodgate Road from the State Route 28 and Woodgate Road, caution light intersection, Woodgate NY.

Special Instructions:
KSU at 10:40 A.M. Please see special flag instructions below. We will ride approximately 1.25 miles to the family residence. We will escort Robert’s two grandsons carrying his ashes and riding their motorcycles to the cemetery, approximately one half mile north on State Route 28. The family will be waiting, graveside. Once there, we will respectfully form a flag line for the duration of the burial service.

PLEASE arrive at the staging location with your flags FURLED. Bike flags will be unfurled at STAGING.
Flags & Water:
Flags Will NOT Be Provided, Please Bring Your Own.
If you have large bike flags, please bring them.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.
