ABOUT THE MISSION:

Joe Schuka of the Libby Funeral Home has requested PGR participation in the funeral service of 4 unclaimed Veterans.

The local VA hospital at Castle Point assisted in securing 4 mausoleum niches at Calverton National Cemetery, where these gentleman will be laid to rest.

Special Instructions:

PGR will stand a flag line at the funeral home for arrival of friends, Clergy and the VFW.

There will be a short prayer/memorial service at the funeral home, with the assistance of local clergy and our local Beacon VFW Post. That service will begin at 10:00 a.m.--sharp

It will be a simple military salute with Taps before proceeding to Calverton where Military Honors will be rendered.

This is the tentative order of service in Beacon, NY.

1. Intro by Funeral Director.

2. Scripture/Remarks/Prayers by…
--Rev. George Mangan of the Christ Church United Methodist of Beacon
--Rabbi Brent Chaim Spodek of the Beacon Hebrew Alliance; and his Cantor.
--And possibly our local VA Hospital chaplain, Fr Karl Lindblad.

3) Conclusion by…
Military Salute from the Local VFW Post of Beacon, and Taps sounded by Michelle Murray-Poczobut from ‘Buglers Across America’.

The PGR will stand a flag line during dignified transfer from funeral home to show Honor, Dignity and Respect for these 4 Veterans.

The funeral home will transport the cremains to Calverton National Cemetery, and stand in as the veterans' family, and be present as the veterans receive their Military Honors.

The Beacon part of this mission ends here. No escort to Calverton.
