 Honor Mission

Richard J. Lezark

USMC - Vietnam

Hamburg, New York - 09-16-18


The family of Mr. Richard J. Lezark has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Lezark, 71, passed on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

A United States Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran, Mr. Lezark enlisted during September of 1966. He served as a Rifleman (MOS 0311), and completed a tour of duty in Vietnam, where he was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds received. He was honorably discharged during September of 1968 at the rank of Corporal (E-4), and received the following awards; Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Rick was an electrician for 36 years at GM Tonawanda Powertrain. UAW Local 774. He dabbled in many hobbies, loved traveling with his wife and Corvette. He enjoyed coaching Hamburg Hawks youth hockey, and could never pass by a garage sale without stopping.
