As we are approaching the holiday season, it's an excellent time to remember our fallen and their ultimate sacrafice; another way to remember them is to sponsor a wreath.  Sponsoring a wreath through Wreaths Across America is easy.

The Patriot Guard Riders of Eastern New York have once again been granted Group Sponsorship status within the Wreaths Across America organization. So what does our Group Sponsorship status mean? Well for every two wreaths that are ordered - using our group codes – Wreaths Across America will donate another wreath - we get 3 for 2.

Important information

Honor Mission

Walter W. Miller

US Army - Korean War

Multi-City, New York - 09-06-18

The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to transport and stand for Mr. Walter W. Miller during his military honors funeral services. Mr. Miller, 86, passed on 23 August 2018 in Cooperstown, NY. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Norma I. (Wiseboard) Miller, and is survived only by their special-needs son, Gary.

Not much is known about Mr. Millers military service, other than he entered the United States Army during November of 1952.  He spoke of how he was involved with the release of American POWs (Operation Big Switch and Operation Little Switch) after the Armistice Agreement had been signed. He was honorably discharged in October of 1954 at the rank of Corporal.

Mr. Miller was fortunate enough to have participated in the Leatherstocking Honor Flight on September 30, 2017.  He spoke about what a wonderful experience it was at every available opportunity, while proudly wearing his Honor Flight t-shirt.

The Patriot Guard Riders will stand as Mr. Millers family, and we are proud to have the opportunity to render dignity, honor and respect for his life and military service to our country.
