Ivan A. Deitz

ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of Mr. Ivan A. Deitz has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Ivan, 81, passed on Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

Ivan is the brother of our own long-time PGR member Don "ICD" Deitz. Born in Albany, Ivan attended Rensselaer City School, and worked a majority of his life as a truck driver for Sysco. He joined the United States Marine Corps on July 7, 1953, and was trained as basic tank and amphibious vehicle Marine (MOS 1800). He was honorably discharged on February 4, 1955 at the rank of Private and, for his service was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

Staging at the Defreestville Park & Ride to meet and escort family to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment services. KSU approximately 09:15 a.m.

Flags & Water:

Flags will not be provided  
If you have a Large Flag Bike, please bring it.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.

Special Instructions:

Interment services with full military honors scheduled for 10:30 a.m. For those staging directly to the cemetery, please be aware of any services in progress. Do not pass the Stratton Memorial area until services in progress conclude.

Members arriving early are asked to establish a flag line at the entrance to the cemetery for the arrival of the escort.

Flags & Water:

Flags will not be provided  
Large Bike Flags will NOT be needed.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.
