Honor Mission

John B. Wager Sr. , Veteran

US Navy, Korean War Era Veteran

Colonie, New York - 06-04-18


The family of John Benjamin Wager Sr. has requested the participation of the Patriot Guard Riders in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Wager, 83, passed on Tuesday, May 29, 2018.

John was a United States Navy Korean War era veteran. He enlisted on 3 January, 1952 and was assigned to the US Navy Rhine River Patrol, Schierstein (Wiesbaden), Germany. The patrol was primarily a tactical arm and was responsible for the security of the US Zone of Germany along the Rhine and for the water communications of the US and NATO forces. During his service, John earned the rating of Fireman and was honorably discharged on 2 January, 1960. For his service, he was awarded the US Navy Good Conduct Medal, Naval Occupation Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Staging at the funeral home with flag line during visitation hours - 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Following a brief ceremony at 1:00 PM, members will escort to Saratoga National cemetery for interment with full military honors.
