ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of Mr. Thomas R. Williams has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Williams passed March 23, 2018.

Mr. Williams was born November 10, 1923 in Hagaman, NY and attended 1-room schoolhouses in Schoharie and Montgomery Counties. He enlisted in the US Army on 7 December1942 where he served in the 100th Infantry Division in France and Germany. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge and on 14 March 1944 was designated a Century Division Ranger. For his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, a Combat Infantry Badge, and was honorably discharged on 17 March 1946 at the rank of Private First Class.

Tom returned safely to Schoharie County and began a long career with GE in Schenectady as a steam fitter, retiring in 1984.
