Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight

URGENT MISSION UPDATE:

Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight Welcome Home Mission CANCELLED.

The arrival time for the flight has been delayed again, and a No Travel Advisory is in effect for Erie County.

In the interest of the safety of our members, I am cancelling the Welcome Home Mission.

ABOUT THE MISSION:
Those of you who have participated in the renewed Buffalo-Niagara Honor Flights know what a thrill and honor it is to escort the heroes and their guardians to the airport, and later welcome them home from their exciting and memorable flight to Washington D.C. 

These veterans and their guardians are treated to a day unlike any other as they visit their memorials, often for the first time. They are treated like "rock stars" everywhere they go. We had great turnouts for these previous missions....let's try to duplicate it this coming Saturday for the first Honor Flight of 2018.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American flag or military service branch flag and dress for the weather. Please ensure your large bike flags are properly placed and securely attached.

KSU approx. 5:45 A.M.

We will escort the Honor Flight buses to the airport, accompanied by law enforcement and fire department vehicles.

Parking will be in the Limo Lot. We will dismount and enter the airport "Arrival/Baggage" entrance and set up a flag line around the podium for the impressive send-off ceremonies. Once ceremonies are completed, we will assist each of the veterans and guardians to the elevator or escalator to the security area. Morning mission completed.

Flags Will NOT Be Provided, Please Bring Your Own.
If you have large bike flags, please bring them.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.

Plane arrival is approx. 10:50 AM.

Flag line to welcome back our heroes as they move through the airport to their waiting buses.

Optional: We MAY be asked to escort the buses back to the Leonard VFW Post.

Please ensure your large bike flags are properly placed and securely attached.
Please do whatever you're able to help support one or both parts of this special, important mission as we ensure these veterans and their guardians have the send-off and welcome home they so richly deserve.

The Rochester Area Warehouse can always use your gently used furniture. Presently this program is in the Rochester, NY area only with pickups within the following zip codes: 146XX; 14445; 14467; 14468; 14514; 14515; 14534; 14559; 14580; 14586.
