Honor Mission

Bryan J. Diggins, Veteran
USN

Schuylerville, New York -
13 Apr 2018

ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of Mr. Bryan Jeffrey "Digger" Diggins has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Bryan, 58, passed on Monday, April 9, 2018.

Bryan served proudly in the US Navy as a Gunners Mate in the early 1980’s, aboard USS Fort Snelling, a Thomaston-class dock landing ship of the United States Navy. He completed multiple tours and was active during the conflicts at Beirut and Lebanon. He achieved both Bluenose status (crossed the Arctic Circle) and Shellback status (crossed the equator) two times over. He was honorably discharged in March of 1986 at the rank of Seaman.

After his military service, Bryan worked for twenty four years as a chemical technician at Schenectady Chemical, from which he retired. He enjoyed his part time job in the produce department at Hannaford where his “regulars” sought him out and were always happy to see him.

Portions of the above narrative are contained in Mr. Diggins' obituary, available for viewing online at the Armer Funeral Home website here:
