Honor Mission

Joseph Rodino, Veteran
USA - WWII
Wynantskill, New York - 05 Apr 2018

ABOUT THE MISSION:
I am sad to report that we have lost yet another WWII Veteran and "Greatest Generation" hero. Mr. Joseph Rodino, 95, passed peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2018, and the family has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services.

Born in Troy, Joseph was raised in Italy, returning to Troy at the age of 15. He served in the United States Army during World War II while assigned to the 65th Infantry Regiment as a medic. A custom tailor, he opened Rodino’s, Inc. in Troy in April of 1948. He retired at the age of 88, leaving his son to run the family business. On October 14, 2014, Joseph traveled to Washington DC with the Leatherstocking Honor Flight to visit the memorials there, with his son as his guardian.

Joseph is a communicant of St. Jude’s Church in Wynantskill, a member of the Father VanRensselaer Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, the Brunswick Elks, the Sons of Italy in Washington, DC and the National Italian American Foundation. He also served as past President of the 65th Infantry Division Association.

A portion of this narrative is contained in his obituary, available for viewing online at the McNulty Funeral Home website here:http://www.mcnultyfuneralhomegreenis.../joseph-rodino

The Patriot Guard Riders are proud to have the opportunity to stand for and render dignity, honor and respect for the life and service of Mr. Joseph Rodino, proud US Army veteran and "Greatest Generation" hero.
