William R. Grundon, Veteran

ABOUT THE MISSION:

We have been requested to stand in Honor of the WW-II U.S. Naval Service and Buffalo Police Department career of William R. Grundon, who passed away this past December 15th.

Mr. Grundon served Active Duty for over 3 years from 1943-1946. His rating was Electrician's Mate, and he served in the European Theater of Operations, including duty aboard the USS Evarts and USS Seattle. Mr. Grundon was Honorably Discharged on 30 October 1946 with the rating of Electrician's Mate 1st Class (E-6), and earned the following awards: Navy Good Conduct Medal; American Campaign Medal; European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal w/3 Campaign Stars; WW-II Victory Medal.

Mr. Grundon went on to serve a 25-year career as a Buffalo Police Officer, and was Honorably retired on 16 July 1987 with the rank of Lieutenant

Graveside Service with Military Honors.

NOTE: Calling Hours and Funeral were held previously, at which time the Buffalo Police Department provided Honors.

Please arrive on time with a clean 3x5 American Flag or US Navy flag, and dress for the weather.
