The Patriot Guard Riders are proud to report that for the first time since the inception of the Wreaths Across America program, on December 16, 2017, a Holiday Wreath was placed on every gravesite at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. The Patriot Guard Riders, along with several thousand community volunteers respectfully placed those wreaths, but much more importantly, took the time to honor and remember over 11,000 of our fallen soldiers, sailors and airmen resting in that place of honor.

We wish to sincerely thank everyone who made that goal a reality, particularly those who contributed via the PGRNY “Three For Two” program. Through that program, fully 100% of your contribution went toward the sponsorship of wreaths, with a total of almost 3,800 wreaths (over 1/3 of the total) provided….a truly outstanding effort.

Now that the bar has been set, we look forward to achieving that goal each and every year going forward, and we are confident that with your generous help and support, we can do just that. Once again, our heartfelt thanks for honoring and remembering our fallen heroes.

Robert B. Keir

ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of Mr. Robert B. Keir has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Bob, 69, passed on Thursday, December 28, 2017.

Bob enlisted in the United States Army in January of 1966. He was trained as a construction equipment operator and aircraft and helicopter mechanic (MOS 67B20), and was assigned to the 114th Aviation Company, "Knights of the Air", Vinh Long Army Airfield, Vietnam. For his service, Bob was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device and the Aircraft Crewman Badge. He was Honorably discharged in January of 1969 at the rank of SP5 (T).

Staging at the funeral home with flag line during Calling Hours 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Extended forecast calls for highs only in the teens, so please dress appropriately. We will be rotating inside / outside, so dress in layers.

Interment services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Wednesday, however, PGR involvement is limited to calling hours only.

Flags Will NOT Be Provided, Please Bring Your Own.
Large Bike Flags will NOT be needed.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.
