Honor Mission

Arthur Francis Segool, Veteran

ABOUT THE MISSION:

We have been requested to stand in Honor of the US Army Service of Arthur Segool of Orchard Park, who passed away on November 4th at the age of 80. Mr. Segool Served 3 years Active Duty from 1956-1959, including 15 months stationed in Korea as a Morse Code Interceptor. He was also attached to Company A, U.S. Army Security Agency (USASA) Battalion 8316 at Fort Bragg, NC. Of note, while in Korea, Arthur and his fellow GIs discovered an old Army tent overloaded with orphaned children. They sent word back to the US and raised money, which they used to build an orphanage. Mr. Segool was Honorably Discharged on 4 September 1959 with the rank of Specialist 5 (E-5.) He was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal and Army Overseas Service Ribbon.

On this day after Thanksgiving, please consider taking a little time to thank and Honor Mr. Segool for his Service to our Nation, and for his humanitarian work for children in Korea.

Our veterans are in need!

The Rochester Area Warehouse can always use your gently used furniture.  The ROC Warehouse schedules pickups every second Saturday of each month.  If you have items that meet the criteria, are located in the Rochester area, and would like us to pickup those items, please go to the Donate Items section and either call us at 585-866-1747 or fill out the Furniture Donation Request Pick-up Request Form.  You are welcome to bring your donations to the ROC Warehouse by appointment only.
