The Patriot Guard Riders are proud to report that for the first time since the inception of the Wreaths Across America program, on December 16, 2017, a Holiday Wreath was placed on every gravesite at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. The Patriot Guard Riders, along with several thousand community volunteers respectfully placed those wreaths, but much more importantly, took the time to honor and remember over 11,000 of our fallen soldiers, sailors and airmen resting in that place of honor.

We wish to sincerely thank everyone who made that goal a reality, particularly those who contributed via the PGRNY “Three For Two” program. Through that program, fully 100% of your contribution went toward the sponsorship of wreaths, with a total of almost 3,800 wreaths (over 1/3 of the total) provided….a truly outstanding effort.

Now that the bar has been set, we look forward to achieving that goal each and every year going forward, and we are confident that with your generous help and support, we can do just that. Once again, our heartfelt thanks for honoring and remembering our fallen heroes.

HOTH Mission

Dryden VFW/American Legion Veteran's Day Ceremony

Dryden, New York - 11 Nov 2017

We have been invited by the Dryden VFW and American Legion to stand a Flag line at the Village Square ( four corners of Dryden ) for their Veteran's Day Ceremony. The community of Dryden has a rich history of past veterans from as far back as WW1, I should know as quite a few of them were relations of mine. With a few of the past Post Commanders, many ceremonies and parades have fallen by the wayside, but the new Post Commander, Ken Miller, would like to bring them back. Ken, as I do, feels it's important that the youth of the community understand the heritage of the area, honoring those veterans serving today as well as those that gave their lives for the freedoms we hold so dearly today. Following the ceremony, the American Legion Auxiliary will put on a Luncheon at the Veteran's Memorial Home VFW/American Legion @ 2272 Dryden Road (rt 13) from 1200 till 2pm or till the food is all gone. I know in the past we have always gone to Dewitt Park in Ithaca for their ceremony, but I thought we'd do something a little different this year and help the Dryden community revive the heritage of their proud little Village.
