The Patriot Guard Riders are proud to report that for the first time since the inception of the Wreaths Across America program, on December 16, 2017, a Holiday Wreath was placed on every gravesite at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. The Patriot Guard Riders, along with several thousand community volunteers respectfully placed those wreaths, but much more importantly, took the time to honor and remember over 11,000 of our fallen soldiers, sailors and airmen resting in that place of honor.

We wish to sincerely thank everyone who made that goal a reality, particularly those who contributed via the PGRNY “Three For Two” program. Through that program, fully 100% of your contribution went toward the sponsorship of wreaths, with a total of almost 3,800 wreaths (over 1/3 of the total) provided….a truly outstanding effort.

Now that the bar has been set, we look forward to achieving that goal each and every year going forward, and we are confident that with your generous help and support, we can do just that. Once again, our heartfelt thanks for honoring and remembering our fallen heroes.

HOTH Mission

Veterans Appreciation Service

Sprakers, New York - 05 Nov 2017

ABOUT THE MISSION:

The pastor of the Charleston Church has once again asked the PGR to act as the Honor Guard for their Veteran's Appreciation Service. We were part of this service last year and the committee was so grateful we were there to help out, they have requested our return.

There will be a flag line outside the entrance to the church to receive the Veteran's arrival. The Honor Guard will then enter the church prior to the service and stand colors from all branches of service as a musical dedication starts the program. The colors will then be posted and PGR will exit the church. At the conclusion of the church service, we will retrieve the colors and leave the building and reform a flag line outside.

The church has invited those PGR present to stay for a full turkey buffet with all the trimmings after the service in the banquet hall. The Veteran's will be introduced and a meal will be shared. Those who attended last year will attest to the fantastic meal and to meet and greet the Veteran's. Several of these Veteran's are Honor Flight members.
