Honor Mission

Frederick W. Reutzel, Sr., Veteran

MULTI-CITY, New York - 16 Oct 2017


The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the military honors funeral services for Mr. Frederick William Reutzel, Sr. Mr. Reutzel, age 94, passed on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Castleton, NY on December 29, 1922, he was employed by Fort Orange paper Company/Brown Paper Company for over 40 years. He served in the Army during WWII with the 731st Field Artillery Bn. as a truck driver In the European Theater of Operations.

Fred was a member of the Castleton Seniors Group, the Tri-Village Seniors Group of Kinderhook, and the Stuyvesant Fire Company. In October 2009, Thanks to the Honor Flight Network, Fred went to Washington, D.C. to see the WWII Memorial. He was also fortunate enough to have his photo taken with Senator Robert Dole and his wife Elizabeth Dole.

The Patriot Guard Riders are proud to have the opportunity to stand for and render dignity, honor and respect for the life and service of Mr. Frederick W. Reutzel, Sr., "Greatest Generation" hero.

Staging at 09:30 at the church for the arrival of funeral cortege. Mass of Christian Burial scheduled for 10:00 AM, followed by escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment with full military honors at 1:00 PM.
