The Patriot Guard Riders are proud to report that for the first time since the inception of the Wreaths Across America program, on December 16, 2017, a Holiday Wreath was placed on every gravesite at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. The Patriot Guard Riders, along with several thousand community volunteers respectfully placed those wreaths, but much more importantly, took the time to honor and remember over 11,000 of our fallen soldiers, sailors and airmen resting in that place of honor.

We wish to sincerely thank everyone who made that goal a reality, particularly those who contributed via the PGRNY “Three For Two” program. Through that program, fully 100% of your contribution went toward the sponsorship of wreaths, with a total of almost 3,800 wreaths (over 1/3 of the total) provided….a truly outstanding effort.

Now that the bar has been set, we look forward to achieving that goal each and every year going forward, and we are confident that with your generous help and support, we can do just that. Once again, our heartfelt thanks for honoring and remembering our fallen heroes.

At the request of family & the Town of Gates New York, we have been requested to stand in honor of Chief Thomas J. Roche, retired Town of Gates Police Chief. Mr. Roche served several years in the Army Reserve during the Vietnam Era, during which was activated for many months during his military service. Chief. Roche served his community for a total of 42 years in law enforcement starting in 1964 with the Rochester Police Department then as Chief of the Gates Police Department until his retirement. Chief Roche was Monroe County's longest-serving police chief when he retired in May 2006.

The family and Gates police are requesting we park all motorcycles directly on Lyell Road in front of the church along with the police/fire/ambulance vehicles. We expect MANY agencies to attend so safety is utmost.

There are NO calling hours, flag line only at the church then escort to Holy Ghost Cemetery 220 Coldwater Road in the town of Gates 14624.

I kindly request that those who may have vest patches with possible offensive phrases / words please cover for this mission. Please be alert to possible short notice changes as I'm working with multiple groups & agencies for this mission. Weather 60's no precipitation forecasted.
